Sherief Abu-Moustafa, CEO – RN, BSN, CAP Sherief is the Founder of the Florida House Experience. He has worked in the field of mental health and substance abuse for over twenty years. Sherief holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is a Registered Nurse in the states of Massachusetts and Florida. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is a Certified Addiction Professional. His clinical skills and passion for people serve to balance and direct the expectations of our stakeholders and promote excellence. Sherief’s leadership embraces the values of accountability and responsibility to The Florida House Experience Mission. In March of 2010, Sherief was awarded the renowned distinction of being named as a Lifetime Member of the Cambridge Who’s Who. This esteemed national group has made genuine note of Mr. Abu-Moustafa’s enormous contribution to the fields of Addiction Medicine and Behavioral Healthcare. In doing so, his name has been placed in their prestigious and elite Directory of Professional Executives and Entrepreneurs.
Dr. Adel Abu-Moustafa Dr. Adel Abu-Moustafa has had a longstanding professional career in the health sector particularly in health education. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Cairo University in Egypt, his Master’s from Harvard University and his PhD from Boston University. With his commitment to education, Dr Abu-Moustafa has been and continues to be involved in academia. He has taught science courses at several universities including Boston College, Boston University and Salem State College. He has also held prestigious leadership and administrative positions and achieved professorial rank in leading academic institutions, including at Salem State College where he has served as the director of the Summer School, Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Academic Dean and Executive Vice President. Dr Abu-Moustafa is currently the Dean of International Medical Affairs at Tufts University School of Medicine where he is overseeing all international educational activities as well as the administration of sponsored clinical residency and fellowship programs. He has been responsible for the development and implementation of innovative training programs both in the United States and abroad and frequently travels internationally as a guest speaker and lecturer. Dr Abu-Moustafa is a pioneer, a highly respected and renowned leader in the field of Heath Education and has been listed as an Outstanding Educator in America, Who’s Who in the United States and Who’s Who in the World. He is an invaluable asset to the Florida House Experience team of professionals.
Rose Cameron, Director of Quality Assurance – BS, CASAC, PHR Rose has worked in the field of addictions for twenty years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Counseling Theory from Empire State University. She is a Certified Addiction Professional in the state of New York, as well as, a Certified Mental Health professional in the state of Florida. Rose has worked in the roles of therapist, program coordinator and administrator during her career. As a Certified Professional in Human Resources her administrative and management skills are currently utilized for staff recruitment and development. Her role as the Director of Quality Improvement and Human Resources enables her to coordinate the dynamic nature of continuous improvement at Sunlight Recovery. Joseph McWaters, Director of Corporate Operations
A Therapist by training, Joseph McWaters has been in the field of Behavioral Healthcare for over 30 years, entering in 1980. He has worked in Corporate Operations for private and publicly traded Companies, including Charter Medical Corporation and Comprehensive Care Corporation ( CompCare ). Since 1984, he has served in a Regional capacity as CEO of Acute Care Psychiatric Hospitals as well as Private Rehabs. He has managed entities from coast to coast with major National Providers including CompCare, FHC Health Systems, The Baptist Health System and Foundations Recovery Network. From 1994 thru 2000, he also served as the Director of Clinical Operations for The PGA Tour, developing and coordinating treatment strategies for Tour Professionals. Concurrent with those positions, in 1991 he founded Behavioral Medicine Inc, a multi-site Outpatient Provider Company specializing in Integrated Behavioral Healthcare. BMI became the largest private provider of Outpatient Treatment Services in the state of Kentucky. Lastly, Mr. McWaters has managed numerous Treatment Operations in California over the years where he developed a sophisticated, West Coast Model of Treatment. From 1983 thru 1989, CompCare Corporate Headquarters were based in Newport Beach, Orange County. In 1990 he served as Clinical Director at Edgemont Hollywood, a private Psychiatric Hospital in Los Angeles. In 1997 he was CEO at FHC Vallejo, a private Psychiatric Hospital in San Francisco. In 2005 he served as CEO of The Canyon, a private rehab in Malibu. Joe’s responsibilities fall under the area of Linear Strategic and Business Planning of the Operations, as well as all Corporate Development initiatives.
